Built in 1896 by Mr. Bertarini, Hotel Olivedo was originally a coal depot for the lake boats. In later years it was converted into a hotel by adding the third floor to the structure, while during World War II the fourth and final floor was also added.
The family-run business, today in its third generation, is one of the features that have always made this hotel welcoming, where every detail aims at guaranteeing the guest’s comfort. For every experience you will always find attentive services, allowing you to immerse yourself in beauty and comfort throughout your stay.

The Lake’s Pearl
The small town of Varenna, alongside the shores of Lake Como, gained the nickname “the Pearl of the Lake” thanks to its beauty, enclosed in its old buildings and romantic alleys. The Lovers’ Boardwalk is, as the name suggests, a hymn to love, tuned by the water; the vestige of Vezio Castle overlooks the village from the mountaintop, still to this day. Villa Cipressi, Villa Monastero, and the spring of Fiumelatte, along with the rest of Varenna’s historical and natural sights, will make you fall in love with this one-of-a-kind town.
Poetry surely characterizes Varenna, and prose as well: easily reachable by train from Milan, it’s a central location for the navigation of Lake Como. A ferry connects visitors, whether on foot or by car, to the other well-known town of Lake Como, Bellagio. The comfortable journey allows for the enjoyment of the wonderful landscapes that surround the lake
